We recently noticed a drink with a special design appearing on the market and decided that it was time to bring it to attention. We’re talking about a drink of a Virginia based company called Commonwealth Brewing Co. which is one of the rising stars of East Coast USA brewing. The brewery says it brews beers of quality and flavors, which brings us to the motive behind the special design.
Jeramy Biggie the owner and brewer wanted to be able to visually see the flavors that he tasted in the cans. Each category within the four core categories has a unique and bursting flavor coming along with a matching design. The beers in these four core categories vary from India Plae Papi Chulo, to Chocolate Stout Mavolo.
Design consultancy Thirst Craft is responsible for the great end-result of the packaging and made sure the evolving amalgamation of the liquids perfectly matched the dynamic beers they represented. It was realized by photographing textures of different inks, oils and vinegars interacting on a plate. Afterwards some editing has been done which caused a tie-die effect in deep and rich colors that have depth and intrigue that requires exploration, just like the beers do.
